Running the Race That Truly Matters

Verse of the Day:“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me — the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”— Acts 20:24 (NIV)

What do you live for?

In a world that pushes us to chase comfort, applause, and fleeting success, Paul’s words pierce like an arrow straight to the heart: “I consider my life worth nothing to me…”

What a shocking statement — and yet, so freeing. Paul knew something we so often forget: this life is not about us — it’s about Him.

He wasn’t driven by fear of loss or hunger for recognition. His greatest desire was to finish his race — to spend every breath declaring one message: God’s grace is real, and it’s for you.

“My only aim…”

Oh, to live like that — with a singular focus! To wake up each morning and say, “Today, whether in hardship or blessing, my aim is to tell the world how deeply loved they are by my Savior.”

It’s not that Paul’s life had no value. Rather, he knew its greatest value was found in surrendering it back to the One who gave it.

Maybe you’re weary today. Maybe your race feels uphill. Maybe you wonder if you’re making a difference at all.

Friend, take courage. Your story isn’t over. Keep running. Keep testifying. Keep letting your life shout, “God’s grace is enough!”

When we stand before Him, the only prize that will matter is hearing Him say, “Well done, my faithful servant.” And all the sacrifices, all the tears, all the moments of laying down our own comfort will pale in comparison to the joy of knowing we finished the race well.

Prayer:Lord Jesus, remind me why I run. Strip away my distractions and fears. Give me a heart that longs to finish well. Use my words, my actions, and my life to testify to the goodness of Your grace. Let my life point others to You, until my final breath. Amen.
